Workforce Director
Development leader at U-M who leads initiatives helping manufacturers and communities adapt to advanced manufacturing, energy, and mobility transitions — bridging industry, government, and education.
Jason Siegel
Director of Education
Leads the center's education efforts and is an Associate Research Scientist in Mechanical Engineering. Research focuses on battery modeling and diagnostic algorithms using battery expansion measurements and controls.
Greg Less
Battery Lab Director
Responsible for day-to-day operations of the U-M Battery Lab. Holds a doctorate in Chemistry from U-M; previously a U-M research scientist and worked at battery companies T/J Technologies and A123 Systems.
Heath Hofmann
Electric Machines & Drives Lead
Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering with expertise in power electronic and electromechanical systems, focused on the design, modeling, simulation, and control of electric machines and drives.
Ellen Hughes-Cromwick
Economic Advisor
Economist focused on the data, analytics, and policy analysis underpinning the EV transition and battery industry buildout. Former chief global economist at Ford and chief economist at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Jamie Racklyeft
Communication Director
Brings more than 30 years of strategic organizational communication experience, leading efforts to inform and engage audiences while advancing EV technology and talent. Earned his Master's in Education from Wayne State University.
